Ms. Katende, a lawyer and advocate of the High Court of Uganda brings to her role a vast experience and strategic networks in the Corporate, NGO, Government and Academia field.   

She holds a bachelor of Laws degree from Uganda Christian University-Uganda, a post graduate diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala-Uganda, and an LL.M specializing in International Human Rights and Alternative Dispute Resolution ,USA.

She is a Human Rights and Gender Activist having born a Commissioner with the Equal Opportunities Commission and now a Board Member of Uganda Women Lawyers (FIDA-U), where she also serves as the Vice-Chair Programs Committee, and on the litigation program. She has also offered consultancy services at the Uganda Management Institute on the higher degrees program lecturing MBA and MPA. Additionally, she has served as a faculty board member of the Uganda Christian University-School of Law where she lectured undergraduate Law Students.

Joyce is a Rotarian, having been the Immediate Past President of Rotary Club Naguru; as well as serving in the capacity of the regional membership experience coordinator for Rotary District 9211 i.e. Uganda and Tanzania. She is also the newly elected Chairperson of the Rotary Roses which focuses on addressing the needs of women and children in our community.
